Kosovo Transitional Housing

International Competition

Temporary housing units are made from sheets of recycled plastic that fold flat for airlifting into areas of need.  They are then folded, like a cardboard box, into individual units.  Colored plastic containers, holding water for drinking and for heat from Trombe Wall technology form one wall of the unit.  The folded surfaces, as well as the water containers, snugly snap together using technology that readily available, such as Lego blocks, and snap-in-place lips found on containers available at any retail outlet.
